Half Of Americans Sleep Next To Their Mobile Phones

If forced to choose between the taking a phone or lunch when they leave the house in the morning, 65 percent of people worldwide opted to take their wireless mobile device with them, according to a poll from Time.

The poll, which the magazine did for, “The Wireless Issue,” found that  44 percent of people would leave their wallets at home rather than their phone. According to the poll, 84 percent of worldwide respondents  said they couldn’t go a single day without their mobile devices, and 61 percent said they plan to replace their phone in less than two years. The study found that half of Americans sleep with their mobile next to the bed. The number gets higher as the age gets younger, as 80 percent of 18-24 year olds sleep next to their phones.

Along with the magazine launch, Time has updated its mobile app and added a scanner that lets you access bonus content from this week’s issue.
