TED Books iOS App Is Now Live

TED Books, the publishing arm of the TED Conference, has launched a new iOS app for eBooks. The app lets readers buy eBooks a la carte for $2.99 each or readers can subscribe for $15 for a three month subscription, which gives readers access to all of TED’s eBooks.

The publisher announced the beta edition of the app a couple of weeks back, it went live in iTunes yesterday. With the launch, TED revealed the new subscription model. Check it out: “We’re releasing a new book every 2 weeks, and we’d like people to own every single one of them. Why? The same reason why many people want to watch a wide range of TED Talks. There’s terrific benefit to signing up for breadth of knowledge as well as depth.”

Development company Atavist built the app. The content is multimedia and the platform allows authors to add audio and video to their books.
