TED Books To Sell eBooks In New iOS App

TED Books, the publishing arm of the TED Conference, is launching a new iOS app to sell its eBooks. Built by publisher and development company Atavist, the new Ted Books app will extend the functionality of TED’s eBooks by allowing authors to add audio and video to their books.

The app is slated for release tomorrow and according to TED’s website, the books in the app will include: “rich images, audio, video and social features, along with links and documentation to provide a broader view.”

PaidContent.org has more about the new app: “Readers can buy the books a la carte for $2.99 each or can purchase a subscription: $14.99 for three months of books. That price includes six books, with one new one delivered every two weeks, plus access to all the books in the back catalog. (Authors are paid advances and also get a royalty each time their book is downloaded.)” (Via Laura Hazard Owen).
