Old Book, New Tricks: 6 Marketing Tips To Increase Sales

I published my second book, Ramen Noodles, Rent and Resumes: An After-College Guide to Life, in April 2008. At the time, "recession" was just becoming a buzz word, but I was dedicated to getting the word out.
I did it all in those first few months... from book signings at Borders and Barnes and Noble to radio interviews. After a busy summer, press opportunities continued to trickle in and I vowed to step up my efforts ahead of next spring's graduations -- but that didn't quite happen. By May 2009, the economy had tanked and so had most of my hopes.
Yet, just because the book was written in more prosperous times doesn't mean that I can't still garner some publicity for it. So I talked to authors, publishers and marketing experts to find out the best marketing strategies that will help put older books, like mine and yours, back in the public eye....
