Party Photos: Netflix All or Nothing Masthead Matchup
At Historic Townhouse, November 18, 2004
Posted December 12, 2004
Stakes were high last month when mediabistro doubled up (or was it down?) with
Netflix to help put on
a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament that pitted men's magazine editors against
their underlingsand each other. The high rollers mingling in the swank
cocktail hour and rolling up their sleeves to play included Playboy editorial
director Chris Napolitano, Men's Journal editor-in-chief Michael Caruso,
Maxim editor-in-chief Ed Needham, Popular Science editor-in-chief
Mark Jannot, FHM editor-in-chief Scott Gramling, Complex editor-in-chief
Jimmy Jelinek, and VH1 exec Michael Hirschorn.
But despite the abundance of testosterone in the room, it was the women, in
the end, who dominated (isn't that how it always is?) The final round found
the New York Post's Heather Gilmore squaring off against Esquire's
Wendy Idele, with Idele emerging victorious and collecting her seriously cool
prize: A trip to Vegas and paid entry (courtesy of Netflix) to the 2005 World
Series of Poker, to be held next June. Congratulations to all those who participated!
