Course Details

Writing for men’s magazines doesn’t have to be a man’s world. Let’s face it, men want to attract us, intrigue us, please us, and get us in the sack. Who would know better about how to get us than us? Of course, more than merely offering up tips on bagging a chick, women have a lot of information and insight to offer men.

This seminar, taught by a woman who has written for an array of men’s magazines, will teach you how to write about sex, fitness trends, health, and travel for men’s magazines. You also need a strong stomach and healthy ego: You will learn that not every potty mouth comment in your stereotypical men’s magazine comes from a man’s mouth, and not every article written by a woman has a byline. However, byline or not, men's magazine clips are great clips, and aren't that hard to obtain.

In this class, you will learn:

  • How to use your female power to get your foot into the men’s magazine door
  • What sections are easiest to get into as a virgin men’s magazine writer
  • How to write in a voice other than your own
  • Now that you are in, how to establish yourself as an invaluable writer for them
