Thomas Kohnstamm
Thomas Kohnstamm first wrote for Lonely Planet in the late 90s. He has since worked as an editor in the New York office of Rough Guides, contributed to over a dozen Lonely Planet titles and written for the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Time Out New York, and Travel + Leisure, among others.

For work purposes, Thomas has surfed in Barbados, paraglided in Venezuela, scuba dived off Brazil, and skied in Patagonia. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese and holds a MA from Stanford with a focus on ecotourism. Thomas lives in Seattle and is at work on his first book, The Low Road, for Random House.
