Word from Judy Miller's jail cell today that she misses reading the internet. "I know what's bothering her more than anything is she cannot read the Internet. ... People are telling her about some allegations about her that are in the blogosphere and she has no way to fight back," Lucy A. Dalglish of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press said of Miller, whom she visited last week.

It's so unfair, isn't it? We can't imagine what POSSIBLE vehicle for response to those pesky online journals a reporter for the nation's leading newspaper might have.

On the other hand, she might be longing to read the internet for details of her own indictment: Blogs broke the news yesterday that President Bush and other administration officials have been indicted by the grand jury. For some reason, the mainstream media appers to be downplaying this story today--no wall-to-wall coverage on the cablers of POTUS's potential jailtime. It must be a sign of how the corporate media is totally in the pocket of the administration.

Remember: You read it first on the blogs. And if it's on the internet, it must be true.
