Arthur Named New LA Times Managing Editor
First on FishbowlDC: FishbowlDC has learned from a reliable source that the new managing editor for the Los Angeles Times will be current assistant managing editor John M. Arthur. You'll recall that managing editor Doug Frantz quit the paper recently to take a job with the Wall Street Journal.

Our source -- whom we had no reason to doubt -- called it "100%," but perhaps it's more like "100% that the conventional wisdom within the newsroom has him getting the gig."
