We are delighted to announce that Jason Reid of the Los Angeles Times will be joining us to help cover the Washington Redskins. Jason covered just about everything for the Times over the last decade, from the Dodgers to the Clippers, making his mark as a relentless, scrappy reporter, exactly what we need on the ultra-competitive Redskins beat.

The Post had tried for many years to persuade Jason to try the East Coast to no avail. But the opportunity to cover the Redskins, our most important beat, was one he could not pass up.

Since Howard Bryant's departure, Jason LaCanfora has done heroic work single-handedly covering the beat and we are most appreciative of those efforts. Jason Reid arrives to help him Aug. 31. (And, yes, one of them will have to change his first name or the whole thing will just be really, really weird).
