LA Times Shines City
A Chowhound editor wants more communal tables, and Josh Richman suggests we all go to places we already know about, like The Apple Pan, probably so that we'll stop jamming hot spots his celebrity pals frequent. Heather Havrilevsky wants a city square, and we're guessing she's not content with Pershing Square, which looks like an urban quarry. (See how nice it looked in 1976?) Amy Alkon asks cell phone chatters to lower their voices (we concur, but if you must shout, make it juicy and lie if you have to.) Barbara Bestor has the coolest idea--use mini-malls as staging areas for art, and not the selected by city employees kind of art. Who doesn't want to see Pretty Nails by Banksy?
