Arianna Steals Calderone from Yahoo

Media reporter Michael Calderone is moving on from Yahoo after just one year.  Calderone confirmed via Twitter that Arianna Huffington has recruited him to join the new AOL-Huffington Post conglomerate.  Huffington broke the news of his hire while speaking on a panel at paidContent’s conference in New York this afternoon.

@mlcalderone: Arianna broke the news! Yes, I’ll be starting at huffpost in mid april. Very excited (but also will miss the great yahoo blog team).

Before joining Yahoo in April of 2010, Calderone covered the media beat for Politico.  He is a former New York Observer reporter and has the rare distinction of being named both one of Keith Olbermann’s “Worst Persons in the World” and one of Bill O’Reilly’s “pinheads.”

Congrats to Michael!
