Cap File Hires Suzy Draddy Jacobs as Publisher

Katherine Nicholls, President and COO of Niche Media, the parent company of Capitol File magazine, announced today that The Week‘s Suzy Draddy Jacobs has been named Publisher of Capitol File. As Publisher, Jacobs will oversee all print and digital sales and marketing functions for the magazine.

Jacobs’s hire, along with that of Editor-in-Chief Elizabeth Thorp last year, is meant as a show of dedication to the Capitol File brand, an inside source at Niche says. Both women bring years of experience to their jobs and will oversee an era of redoubled investment in Cap File and the DC market.

Jacobs’s predecessor, Heather Zahn left late last year after a tenure of only a few months. Zahn, a former Cap File Associate Publisher, had been promoted to replace Sarah Schaffer, who, after two years as Publisher, left to pursue other interests. Lou DeLone, an Austin-based Group Publisher for Niche Media has been advising Cap File since Zahn’s departure. He will continue to serve as an adviser to Niche Media.

For her part, Jacobs most recently served as Vice-President of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast region for The Week publications. She managed digital, mobile, print and event platforms there for the company’s east coast operations. Prior to that she was at Corporate Board Member.
