Daily Caller Hires Mickey Kaus

The Daily Caller is bringing blogger Mickey Kaus, the founder of Kausfiles, on board.

A longtime journalist, Kaus has worked for Slate, TNR, Washington Monthly, and most recently Newsweek. He is the author of The End of Inequality.  In 2010, Kaus was a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate in California.

In a statement, Editor-in-Chief Tucker Carlson remarked, “Mickey Kaus has helped define political writing online. He’s also one of the funniest people blogging in English. Even when I disagree with him – which is regularly – I can’t stop reading. We’re thrilled to have him.”

Kaus, fittingly, sung the publication’s praises. “The Daily Caller is serious but with a sense of perspective. They cover whatever the day’s fuss is about but they obviously appreciate the fun of politics. It’s not a grim chase after search engine-driven Web hits. I’m proud to join them. I’ve dealt with some of their reporters and found them to be both knowledgeable and honest, with no partisan axes to grind. They have open minds. And, of course, great barbecue.”
