“It is with great pleasure that I announce this:
David Freddoso, who has been quite ably covering Congress for National Review Online, comes to us as an investigative writer. During the 2008 presidential race, Freddoso wrote the New York Times best-seller, The Case Against Barack Obama.
Before joining NRO, Freddoso spent three years assisting Washington political columnist Robert Novak. He’s also covered Congress for Human Events. Freddoso studied classical Greek at Notre Dame and earned a master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism.
J.P. Freire, managing editor of the American Spectator, will hold the same title in the Commentary section. Freire was named journalist of the year for 2009 by the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
Besides the Spectator, Freire’s work has appeared in The New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Human Events, Reason Magazine, and The Washington Times. Freire attended Cornell University, where he studied English Renaissance literature and political science and served as a senior editor and a columnist for the Cornell Review.
