Major Garrett Heads to CBS

Major Garrett will be returning to TV and the White House. Effective November 26, Garrett will take over as White House Correspondent for CBS News. CBS is a television partner of National Journal, where Garrett currently serves as White House Correspondent for the publication. He will continue to write a weekly column for them.

Garrett replaces Norah O’Donnell, who moved on to be the host of “CBS This Morning.”

Ron Fournier, Editor-in-Chief of the National Journal sent this email to colleagues..

Folks,

We knew this day would come but it doesn’t make it any easier: Major Garrett is returning to TV. Our colleague and friend is going to be White House Correspondent for CBS News, our television partner, effective Nov. 26.

The good news is that Major remains our colleague as National Journal’s Correspondent at Large. He will write a weekly column for NJ and be a regular at NJ Live events.

Please join me in congratulating the “Mayor of Rivers”- a great reporter and writer, a friend and drinking companion, a class act who stands as a role model for us all.

Warm regards,

Ron
