Michael Kinsley Heads to Bloomberg View
New York Magazine National Affairs Correspondent John Heilemann released the tip just minutes ago of a possible job prospect for Bloomberg View. He wrote, “Just ran into Mike Kinsley in lobby of offices of Bloomberg View, getting tour from DShipley. Draw your own conclusions. #anothermarqueehire”
It’s not a mere prospect. An industry source has confirmed that Kinsley is going to work for Bloomberg View, the new opinion service launched by Bloomberg L.P. We hear that a number of editorial writers and editors are being paid $500,000 or more to jump ship. More announcements are coming.
In early September of last year, Kinsley, along with MSNBC pundit Joe Scarborough, went to work for Politico as the publication’s first opinion columnists. We’ve reached out to Politico to ask who will replace Kinsley.
