“The most powerful and influential person in the world… Michelle Obama. Maddam First Lady, lovely to see you. Good evening,” Colbert joked, as the camera cut to a laughing First Lady and seemingly unamused President.
“There she is, looking radiant, on camera, next to the President, which I assume means she has no future plans to run for office,” he continued, getting a laugh from the President this time. ”There aren’t a lot of Democrats who have that courage.”
Colbert will sit down with President Obama for the taping of “The Colbert Report” at GW’s Lisner Auditorium this evening. The episode will air at 11:30 PM ET.
