The Atlantic and NJ Snag Rosario Dawson, Sex and The City Writer, Tanzanian Ambassador and CBS News Prez

The Atlantic and National Journal are hosting several events over the course of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner  weekend, and the guest list is starting to leak out.

Friday evening…As usual, there’s a fancy welcome dinner hosted by David and Katherine Bradley at their Washington home. The evening brings together leaders from the worlds of business, politics, and media, as well as celebs. Attendees at this point include: CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell and Mr. Norah O’Donnell, Chef Geoff Tracy; Mwanaidi Sinare, the Tanzanian Ambassador; actress Rosario Dawson (pictured above); Eric Spiegel, CEO of Siemens; Bill Burton, Obama campaign advisor/Priorities USA; and David Rhodes, president of CBS News. The evening will feature African cuisine, with a culinary discussion led by Atlantic senior editor Corby Kummer, plus award-winning portraits from renowned photographer Platon’s exhibit at the United Nations.

Also on Friday evening, from 10 pm to 2 am…The Atlantic, National Journal, and IMPACT Arts + Film Fund will host The First Amendment Party with Funny or Die at 1800 L Street, NW.  In a custom designed pop-up space in the heart of downtown DC, the party will feature an energetic Vegas vibe with elements transplanted from the über chic Cosmopolitan Hotel. Expect cocktails and projections of Funny or Die’s latest videos, including Clinton Foundation: Celebrity Division starring President Bill Clinton, Charlize Theron Gets Hacked, and Drunk History Christmas with Ryan Gosling and Jim Carrey. Food will catered by José Andrés’ Think Food Group.

On Saturday evening at the actual WHCD… The Atlantic, National Journal, and CBS News partner again to host a pre-dinner reception at the Hilton. With its prime location on the Hilton’s outside terrace, the reception typically draws a variety of bold-faced names from both Washington and Hollywood. (Last year’s celebrity attendees included Maria Bello, Don Cheadle, and Sean Penn.)  Celebrities you can expect to see this year include Rosario Dawson, Claire Danes, and Christine Baranski (the last two are guests of CBS). Other Atlantic/National Journal guests include: José Andrés; Darren Star (who created and was a writer for “Sex and the City”); Stacey Snider, co-chairman and CEO of Dreamworks Studio; and Nancy Ann DeParle, deputy Chief of Staff for Policy at the White House.

More names will be forthcoming closer to the event.
