Today WaPo‘s The UnReliable Source gives us a variety of reasons why their brand of gossip is so crappy. For one thing, their lead item this afternoon concerns Charlie Sheen, who last time we checked, resides in Los Angeles. Next up, a recycled item about the death of the female blazer from an actually decent story published in WaPo Monday by Katherine Boyle on what female anchors are wearing these days — it’s a sad state of affairs out there as CBS’s Norah O’Donnell can’t find a colorful blazer. Reliable says female newswomen are now wearing “sleeveless dresses and stilettos.” They want to know (yawn) if it’s a “sex sells” type of thing? And then for the cherry atop this vanilla sundae… they have the “news” on child actor Angus Jones, which we’d already heard yesterday, that he’s bitching about the stupidity of his own show, Two and a Half Men. Again, not Washington and not gossip.
