Tim Mihalsky, a native of Thousand Oaks, would schlep over that hill everyday to get coffee and answer phones for Ryan Seacrest. That was five years ago. “I used to watch Ryan and Ellen talk all morning long and thought, ‘I could do that’ and I now I am,” Mihalsky tells FishbowlLA.
The now 24-year-old built his radio show from the ground up, called advertisers and markets himself offering them his original daily content. And now FoxRock Syndication Services has Tim’s show on their roster.
The lesson here: Never give up and always be nice to your interns. They may have a national platform one day.
Congrats Tim! Here’s a link to his site.

Chicago, IL, May 10, 2011 – FoxRock Syndication Services, a division of FoxRock Communications Inc. announced today the debut of AFTER DINNER DRIVE ® featuring THE BLOCK with TIM to its roster of syndicated programming.
“We’re so excited that a show as fresh and entertaining as THE BLOCK with TIM is now available on a national scale,” said FoxRock Communications President, Matt Smith. THE BLOCK with TIM has been a hit on the West Coast for a few years now and is poised to be a success nationwide, targeting for the 18-34 demo. Smith continued, “The 18-34 demo up until now has focused on music programming, but I am convinced that THE BLOCK with TIM is how talk radio for that demo should be done.
Former Ryan Seacrest staff member, host Tim Mihalsky, “is the brightest new voice in talk radio and THE BLOCK is the perfect flagship for our new AFTER DINNER DRIVE offerings.” Smith said, “FoxRock Syndication Services is proud to present a program that reinvigorates this under utilized radio day part to a very neglected demo in talk radio.”
THE BLOCK with TIM is a two hour daily show delivered via FTP download on a 100% barter basis in time for Afternoon Drive or AFTER DINNER DRIVE. It is presented in a light hearted watercooler style. Guest and information heavy, THE BLOCK with TIM features “Hot Air or Headlines” each hour with Ashleigh Speidel and has welcomed past guests as Wendy Williams, Lisa Lampanelli, Cheech & Chong, and Russell Simmons. Each guest also participates in the “Would You Rather…” segment, where guest must decide between two different, unexpected scenarios, prompting compelling, often unexpected responses.
THE BLOCK with TIM host, Tim Mihalsky said, “I am so happy to be joining Fox Rock Syndication Services. I always dreamed about speaking on a national platform since I was a 6-years-old getting in trouble for talking during school and church. I worked hard to get my foot in door and learned from the best at On-Air With Ryan Seacrest. I have worked with, and been approached by, other syndicators but none have been as dedicated to making The Block be the national success it is destined for as FoxRock. Matt Smith and his team are the perfect fit. I am thrilled about what is to come.”
Ashleigh Speidel added, “Working on The Block is the definition of a dream job. Since joining Tim and reporting in Hot Air or Headlines, The Block has grown tremendously and FoxRock Syndication Services is just what the show needs to be heard nationwide. I am so excited to continue reporting everyday in Hot Air to a young, growing national audience.”
Demo materials for THE BLOCK with TIM can be found on the FoxRock Communications website, www.foxrockcommunications.com. Interested stations can also contact FoxRock by phone at 847-745-5699 or via email at email@example.com.
