Greg Hernandez Bolts from LA Business Journal

Like so many journalists these days, Greg Hernandez (pictured) chose the medium of social media to share a casual professional update. His Monday June 13th Facebook missive read:

“I’ve just been elected president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association and will be working hard to bring our membership numbers back up. Also, I’m no longer at the LA Business Journal and am now doing all kinds of things like the attached story on CBS News that ran in the Sunday issue of Variety!”

Say what?! When FishbowlLA contacted Hernandez for more details about his departure from the Journal, a move that comes just a few months after the former Los Angeles Daily News staffer joined the weekly publication as their full-time entertainment and media reporter, he chose not to comment.

In recent years, Hernandez has actively kept up his personal blog, Greg in Hollywood, where he can freely post things like coverage of this past weekend’s LifeWorks mentor program special event on the Paramount Studios lot.
