LA Times, LA Weekly Among ‘GLAAD Media Awards’ Nominees
Though the film and television nominees tend to get more attention, some local print outlets have been nominated for GLAAD Media Awards too. LA Weekly‘s Steve Friess picked up a nod for “Outstanding Newspaper Article” for his heartbreaking piece “A Tragic Love Story,” about transgendered LA Times columnist Mike Penner/Christie Daniels. We’ll be shocked if the piece doesn’t win.
Meanwhile, the LA Times itself was recognized for “Outstanding Newspaper Overall Coverage.”
The Advocate, Entertainment Weekly, People and US Weekly were all nominated for “Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage.”
