LA Times Running Some Strange Ads on Its Website

We all know that online advertising can be a shit show. But, seriously, this is ridiculous. We snapped a screengrab of two bizarre banner ads last Friday on the same page as the LA Times‘ story about two journalists who were murdered in Mexico.

Hey, Tribune management, we know you want your bonuses, but you don’t see this kind of garbage on the New York Times‘ website. Just sayin’. A little quality control would be nice. If you’re going to run weird ads, try to keep them off the pages of stories describing international tragedies.
