Hollywood Commenter ‘Himmmm’ Gets More Press

The latest MSM outlet to chime in on the crazy story of “Himmmm,” an anonymous Hollywood website commenter who has claimed that he is one-part Robert Downey Jr., is the FoxNews.com 411 showbiz column.

In the article by Joe Piazza, the actor’s high-powered publicist Alan Nierob confirms that Downey Jr. has nothing to do with the salacious observations of Himmmm and hints that the actor’s reps may well want to pursue legal action. First to this story last week were Gawker and Jezebel.

One offshoot of the bizarre Internet firestorm is no doubt a major spike in traffic for Crazy Days and Nights, the murky Tinseltown website where Himmmm has long trolled. It’s almost enough to make FishbowlLA think the owner of the commenter account is also the owner of the website.

At the very end of the FoxNews.com story, following much Himmmm regurgitation, Fordham media studies professor Paul Levinson shares some sage words. No one who hides behind a commenter pseudonym, he warns, should ever be trusted.
