5’2″ Homeless Model Writes Tragic-Cum-Triumphant Memoir at SoHo Apple Store

isobella_model_couch.jpg

Isobella Jadeco, a model who has been living out of a suitcase in New York, is pitching a memoir, Almost 5’4″, about her struggle as an aspiring, height-challenged starlet. And she’s apparently been using the communal office that is the Apple Store on Prince Street in SoHo to write it.

Where Isobella wrote her book is a story in [itself, sic]. She wrote her whole memoir which is over 250 [pages], while standing in heels infront of an Imac 17inch computer at the Apple Store in soho.

Why?

Because just as she is living out of a suit case, she also doesn’t have a computer or internet connection. She has become a regular at the store and the store found out about her writing and constant vists and found her story ” inspirational” and ” intriguing,” she was then invited to do a reading in a store.

Jadeco, who has modeled for Mass Appeal, Stuff and Juicy Couture among others, also apparently prefers pitching her story in the third person.

Jadeco’s e-mail pitch, as well as an exclusive sample of Jadeco’s prose:

Isobella’s memoir titled approaperly “Almost 5’4″ isn’t even published yet, but she will soon have already given three readings and plans for more around the country by mid July.

Where Isobella wrote her book is a story in it’se self. She wrote her whole memoir which is over 250 words, while standing in heels infront of an Imac 17inch computer at the Apple Store in soho. Why?
Because just as she is living out of a suit case, she also doesn’t have a computer or internet connection. She has become a regular at the store and the store found out about her writing and constant vists and found her story ” inspirational” and ” intriguing,” she was then invited to do a reading in a store. Isobella says excitedly,” At first the reading was just for fun, to thank the store for the usage and it would allow me to explain why I had been a complacent face in the store for over a year.” After her reading she planned 2 more one in LA and San Francisco. ” I am over joyed to share my story, admiting my lifestyle isn’t, since I have been eating dollar menu for almost a year and living out of a suitcase but I feel if I can inspire someone to continue their dream, I am willing to share my mistakes and my not so glamourous experiences as a freelance model”

She is the underdog of modeling. She tells a tale of modeling you wont find in Vogue or on the runway. How she wrote a book is a compliment to Apple for their new innovative ways of allowing customers to use the free internet provided at the store. Has Isobella taken advantage? Maybe, but she has stood in heels for hours writing her book which is particial dedicated to Apple since this past year 90 Percent of her resume has come from jobs she has gained by visiting the store. If anything Steve Jobs should give her a call. Attached is more information and a trailer that was shown and will be shown before her readings. Dylan, thank you for your time, Isobella is currently editing and living what she is writing, working as a model and pitching her book to agents in NYC.

Enclosed is a sample of “Almost 5’4″

I am curious if Media Bistro would be interested in a story like this?

Thank you

[excerpt from a chapter entitled "Braun and Blood"]

That morning it felt different waking up with this job waiting for me. A job that would be my best friend, it would hug my desperate soul
and tell me that I wasn’t wasting my time or fucking around with having a pipe dream. It was chance; it was a moment that meant at the end of the day I would have a new reason to continue trying to be a model. And motivation that I should. I had worked before, for over the past 3 years. Maybe a lot of it was amateur and bullshit and got me no where but I recognized the tickling orgasmic feeling in my stomach, the anxiety and the pleasure of knowing I had a shoot. The difference was I just didn’t always have a person to call after the shoot and a voucher to be signed.

The door to be professional was opening, slowly, but it was opening a little bit. This shoot would be a level that I had been curious about when I was posing just for my ego with photographer pricks back in 2001 and at the time ignored my potential.
