Buzzfeed Poaches Two from Gawker
A tipster notified us (and notified us, and notified us) that Buzzfeed has expanded its editorial staff by adding two from the Gawker Media empire. Whitney Jefferson, a writer at Jezebel, and Matt Cherette, a writer at Gawker, will both be joining Buzzfeed in January as Senior Editors.
Reached via email, Jefferson said she was “over-the-moon about joining the Buzzfeed team,” and Cherette added that “it’ll be exciting.” Both couldn’t elaborate on the exact details of their new positions.
