With the sad passing of Saul Bellow come the reviews of his work as an iconic American writer - but annoying Canadians you know will no doubt have already pointed out that Bellow was technically Canadian. They've probably also mentioned that Peter Jennings is a Canuck, too (whether or not they later became U.S. citizens is immaterial; if they were born in Canada, that's usually enough).
The point is, Canadians are lurking everywhere - captaining august institutions like Vanity Fair, talking up a storm on Fox, writing glowing book reviews on Slate, bringing New Yorkers their morning headlines on NY1 (and didn't MSNBC used to have one? Whatever happened to that bus thing?). The point is, they're out there - and closer than you think. Be warned.
