Another Day, Another Print Pub 'Transitions' to the Web

lasvegaslife.jpgWe love getting emails about magazines transitioning to Web portals. They are just so ... positive. They are all, "Don't worry about the fact that we couldn't make enough money to stay in print, we'll all be fine on the wonderful World Wide Web." Hooray spin doctors.

The latest victim opportunist? Greenspan Media's Las Vegas Life, which will publish a yearly "Best of" issue and transition the rest of its content online. "We are not able to serve the great residents of our city in print alone and find that the online medium presents the most engaging way to deliver content, applications and services that truly meet the needs of our audiences," Michael T. Carr, Greenspan's president said in a release.

LAS VEGAS LIFE TRANSITIONS FROM MONTHLY MAGAZINE TO WEB PORTAL

Greenspun Media Group strategy to provide expanded content and reach
consumers in and out of market

LAS VEGAS — Effective with the issuance of its April edition, Las Vegas Life will no longer be published as a monthly publication. Las Vegas Life will become the anchor for the Greenspun Media Group's larger and long-term vision as it ramps up its digital platform under the lasvegaslife.com banner. A "Best of" issue will be published annually under the Las Vegas Life name.

"We are extremely proud of the successful 10 plus years we have published Las Vegas Life," said Michael T. Carr, president of Greenspun Media Group. "We are not able to serve the great residents of our city in print alone and find that the online medium presents the most engaging way to deliver content, applications and services that truly meet the needs of our audiences."

Given the strength of the company's diverse media portfolio and in absence of publishing Las Vegas Life monthly, Greenspun Media will be expanding the editorial coverage of VEGAS Magazine, Las Vegas Home & Design, Las Vegas Weekly and the weekly newspaper group, The Home News to ensure residents and the 5,000 moving here each month, get everything they need to fully experience all that Las Vegas offers.
