Martha Stewart Takes PBS Viewers to Cooking School

Martha Stewart is bringing her kitchen to PBS. Martha Stewart’s Cooking School debuts in the fall, based on her enonymous best-selling book.

The weekly, 30-minute program will feature Stewart demonstrating cooking techniques and basics. Using her signature, step-by-step how-to-teaching process, she will illustrate the building blocks of recipes everyone should know. Viewers will learn how to select the best ingredients. Among the lessons in her TV master class, Stewart will teach how to make the perfect pot roast and how to pan saute a whole fish.

“PBS is the perfect home for this series. We’ll show viewers how to prepare classic dishes as well as how to use proper techniques.  This new series combines so many of my passions: teaching and encouraging others,” said Stewart.   “We will break down classic recipes for home cooks and inspire them to add their unique twist. I’m excited to get into the kitchen and connect with audiences across the nation.”

The show is being produced in association with WETA in Washington. FishbowlNY has learned that the show has received clearence from 85 percent of PBS stations nationwide, although there’s no confirmation that New York outlet WNET/Channel 13 is among them.
