New York Raising Cover Price to $5.99

New York magazine is raising its cover price to $5.99, beginning with the December 26 issue. Adweek reports that the magazine decided to up the price after several issue prices were increased and sales remained the same. The increase means that New York has doubled its newsstand price since 2007, when it only $2.99.

Hopefully the price hike won’t upset anyone, but you never know. For some reason people think it’s okay to spend six dollars on an idiotic morning coffee, but won’t pay that much for a magazine. New York is well worth the price; better yet, it’s worth a subscription. The magazine consistently puts out quality work from talented writers.

And yes, any coffee that costs about six dollars is idiotic. It’s been proven by scientists.
