Is it our imagination or is the news a little bit harder to find on The New York Times homepage these days? More often of late it seems that large, distracting ads appear to be swallowing up the front page stories (the other week the Mac and PC boys were walking around where the op-ed links normally are).

Is it part of a secret plan to stave off Rupe? Or perhaps just a way to counter the "bloodbath" that staffers are reportedly being told to expect?
