Newsday Hires 31 Employees To Beef Up Online And Local Coverage

What’s the best way for a newspaper to stay relevant and ahead of the curve?  Hire a boatload of tech whizzes and keep your content accessible online and as localized as possible.  At least that’s the approach that Long Island-based newspaper Newsday is taking as they have hired 31 staffers to their team.  It’s not too difficult to determine where the paper’s priorities lie by looking at the departmental breakdown of the new hires:

13 employees have been added to the Long Island desk

10 new workers will join the Newsday.com team

Four individuals have been brought in for the news desk

Two will be working at the presentation desk

One person will contribute to the Explore L.I. section

One member has been added to the sports department
