NY Times Taps Two Deputy Metro Desk Editors, People Names Style Director

A few moves this afternoon: The New York Times has tapped two new deputy metro editors, and People has named a style and beauty director. Details are below.

  • The Times has named David Halbfinger and Michael Luo deputy metro editors. Halbfinger most recently served as the Times’ metro political editor. Luo — who has been with the Times since 2003 — most recently served as an investigative reporter for the paper.
  • Andrea Lavinthal has been named style and beauty director for People and People Digital.  Lavinthal has been with People since 2012, when she joined as style director.
