Re: Staff Announcement

On the recommendation of Rick Stengel, I am very pleased to announce that Radhika Jones is a new executive editor of TIME. In her three years at TIME – today marks her actual third anniversary, as a matter of fact – Radhika has distinguished herself as an invaluable member of the editorial team. She came to us from the Paris Review where she was managing editor. She began her journalism career at the Moscow Times, where she started as a copy editor. Radhika is actually Dr. Jones and has a Ph.D. in English from Columbia. Rick’s explanation of her many contributions to TIME says it best:

A self-described “former quiet person,” Radhika has become the indispensable person at TIME, ranging over the magazine, front and back, and Time.com, not to mention editing the last two TIME 100 issues and the Mark Zuckerberg “Person of the Year” issue. She helped lead the design prototype process which created a re-imagined TIME that has been a great hit with readers and advertisers. She has also been involved in starting a system for mentoring staff members. She improves everything she touches and has constantly pushed us all toward excellence. Though few of us can match her at karaoke.

Please join Rick and me in congratulating Radhika and wishing her the best in this important new role.
