Rumors Swirl About Carine Roitfeld

When French Vogue Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld stepped down last Friday, she said it was simply “time for something new.” Apparently that’s the new way to say you’ve been fired. Racked.com is reporting that Roitfeld was forced out because of a number of transgressions:

Our sources tell us the magazine’s parent company was unhappy with all the bad press surrounding Roitfeld’s alleged pay-for-play scandals—this year alone—demanding huge sums of money for extracurricular consulting gigs and the enormous, public embarrassment of being banned from Balenciaga last season for abusing her position at Vogue.

Yeah, it’s not pretty. The fastest way to stop this rumor mill from churning is for the magazine to fill Roitfeld’s position and move on, so FishbowlNY’s advice to French Vogue is don’t just stand there, let’s get to it, strike a pose there’s nothing to it.
