Veteran WNBC Anchor Sue Simmons Recovering from Back Surgery
If you’re wondering why Sue Simmons has been a no-show during the all-important November sweeps period–the veteran anchor had back surgery.
A WNBC spokeswoman says Simmons will be off the air for the “next several weeks,” but she is home and recovering very well.
Simmons says through the spokeswoman that she is fine and looking forward to getting back to work as soon as possible.
In the meantime, her longtime co-anchor Chuck Scarborough will deliver the news solo at 6 and 11 p.m. in her absence.
