Amazon Warehouse Employees Complain About Working Conditions

Amazon has been on a hiring spree this year, opening warehouses and distribution centers all over the country. While this is good news for job hunters, some workers are not pleased with the conditions.

The Morning Call has published an investigative account: “Elmer Goris spent a year working in Amazon.com’s Lehigh Valley warehouse … the 34-year-old Allentown resident, who has worked in warehouses for more than 10 years, said he quit in July because he was frustrated with the heat and demands that he work mandatory overtime. Working conditions at the warehouse got worse earlier this year, especially during summer heat waves when heat in the warehouse soared above 100 degrees.”

Goris is not the only employee who has had problems working at Amazon in this particular location. According to The Morning Call’s report, they found 20 current and former employees who have complained about heat and poor working conditions.
