Comedian Andrew Dice Clay has inked a deal with Simon & Schuster’s Touchstone imprint for a memoir entitled The Dirty Truth.
Vigliano Associates literary agent David Vigliano negotiated the deal with senior editor Matthew Benjamin. Here’s more from the release:
From humble beginnings at smalltime gigs in Brooklyn to performing in front of stadium-sized crowds, Andrew Dice Clay roared to fame in the 1980s, becoming the only comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row. But his edgy material came at a price; he was forced into exile. Now, Dice is back, selling out performances as well as starring in Woody Allen’s new film, Blue Jasmine, in theatres July 26, 2013.
The publisher plans to release the book in May 2014.
David Ritz will be the co-author. Throughout his publishing career, Ritz has written biographies profiling celebrities such as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Marvin Gaye.
