Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (producer of Salt, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and the Transformers trilogy) has optioned Slammed and Point of Retreat by formerly self-published novelist Colleen Hoover.

In August, Hoover signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster’s Atria Books imprint for both novels. Slammed already has its own soundtrack, filled with the Avett Brothers’ music. Her work dominated our Self-Published Bestsellers List for weeks this year.

In a post that has since generated 300 comments, Hoover wrote on her blog: “Both SLAMMED and POINT OF RETREAT have been optioned by a film producer!!!  I wish I knew how to increase the font on this thing, because I would write this sentence SO FREAKING BIG!!!!!!!!!”
