The Northampton bureau of the Evening Telegraph reports that comic book scribe Alan Moore will guest on The Simpsons, after the production team for the Fox show met Moore's fiancée (and Lost Girls collaborator) Melinda Gibbie earlier this year and asked if he'd be up for it. According to the article, Moore's appearance is driven by the opening of a new comics shop in Springfield, no doubt sending Comic Book Guy into a tizzy. Fun trivia fact: Moore may be the first British comic book writer to play himself on the sitcom, but he's not the first to show up in the Simpsons universe...that honor belongs to Grant Morrison and Mark Millar.
