eBook Summit Book Pitch Contest

ebooksummit23.jpgAs self-published titles multiply and digital libraries grow more crowded, crafting an effective book pitch is more important than ever. Polishing your fiction or nonfiction book proposal can win you a free ticket to Mediabistro’s eBook Summit.

During the December 15, 2010 eBook Summit, GalleyCat and eBookNewser will host a special book pitch panel discussion. Our all-star list of panelists includes literary agent Kate McKean, Movable Type Literary Group literary agent Jason Allen Ashlock, and Cursor founder Richard Nash. They will share book pitch advice and answer questions from aspiring writers in the audience.

To prepare, we will also sponsor our first ever Mediabistro Book Pitch Party on November 3, 2010 in New York City. It’s like a book club for book proposals: showcasing the work of 10 talented writers and forging a community of aspiring authors. If you would like to share your proposal at the party, follow the directions below to submit your book proposal. We will collect submissions from now until October 27th–your chance to win a free eBook Summit ticket.

Out of all the book pitch submissions, we will choose ten talented authors to feature at the Book Pitch Party. These writers will each deliver a short book pitch to a crowd of supportive readers, writers, and publishing professionals at the November 3rd party. At the end of the night, our judges will award three lucky winners a free ticket to Mediabistro’s eBook Summit. At the Summit, these writers will receive valuable, customized advice from our book pitch panelists.
