‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Box Set Sold 84,000 Copies in a Week
Random House released E.L. James‘ Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy as a box set on June 12th. Publishers Weekly reported that “the set sold nearly 84,000 print copies in its first full week.”
The individual books currently occupy the top three spots on The New York Times bestseller list for combined print & eBook fiction. So far, they have retained a position on the list for fifteen weeks. The box set by itself holds the #6 spot.
Salon.com noted that novelist Bret Easton Ellis tweeted his plans to adapt the book into a film script. According to The Huffington Post, several Hollywood actresses have expressed interest in playing the lead heroine including Nancy Drew star Emma Roberts and The Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart. Who would you cast as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey?

These days, writers aren’t just writers: They’re social-media mavens, seasoned public speakers, and one-person publicity machines. And they still have to find time to write their books!
