First Authorized John Wayne Photo Book Coming This Fall

John Wayne Enterprises has cut a deal with powerHouse Books to publish “the first-ever authorized John Wayne photo book” of Oscar-winning actor John Wayne. From the 1920s until the 1970s, Wayne acted in 175 films. The video embedded above shows the actor in the original adaptation of True Grit.

The untitled project, slated for release in fall 2011, will contain never-before-seen photos from the family photo archives as well as still images taken from Wayne’s films. The book will also feature commentary from family members, friends, and former co-stars.

Ethan Wayne, John’s son and president of John Wayne Enterprises, gave this quote in the press release: “As the first-ever authorized book on John Wayne, my family is looking forward to sharing the myriad of personal memories and never-before-seen images that will comprise this unique representation of our father’s life.”
