Gillian Flynn Lands Deal for YA Book

Author Gillian Flynn has inked a two-book deal with Random House. Flynn (pictured, via) will write a new novel for adults and her first young-adult novel.

Crown Publishing Group will publish the adult book and Delacorte Press will handle the YA book. No details about the titles, storylines or release dates have been revealed. Fans can expect a new adult book (a separate project from this deal) from Flynn to hit bookstores in 2015.

Here’s more from The New York Times: “Since its publication in June, Gone Girl, Ms. Flynn’s third novel, about a wife who disappears as she and her husband are celebrating their fifth anniversary, has become arguably the year’s biggest literary phenomenon for a book not containing the words ‘Fifty Shades’ in its title. Gone Girl spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the hardcover fiction best-seller list of The New York Times, and has sold more than 2 million copies in print and digital formats, Crown said.”
