How To Support Reading Is Fundamental & National Writing Project

Today we shared the sad news that Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) and National Writing Project (NWP) have lost federal funding through a temporary spending law that cut millions of federal dollars supporting educational organizations.

Both RIF and NWP have set up action pages for concerned readers. Here’s more from NWP: “Contact your senators and representatives in the House and ask them to support the NWP. Find contact information here. Encourage your superintendents, principals, university presidents and other interested individuals to write letters in support of NWP to their legislators.  See NWP’s sample letter.”

RIF has a legislative action contact page and a children’s letter writing campaign–both useful tools to fight for the organization.
