Karen Handel Tells Her Side Of Komen Planned Parenthood Controversy In Upcoming Book

Karen Handel, the former executive at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure who resigned  after a highly publicized controversy, has landed a book deal to write about her experience.

Under Handel’s leadership in January, Susan G. Komen for the Cure cut off funding for Planned Parenthood affiliates after the two organizations entered at political battle surrounding the abortion debate. The rift caused a huge controversy as more half a million dollars allocated to mammograms was at stake. After public outcry, the breast cancer awareness organization reinstated the funding and Handel resigned. In Planned Bullyhood: The Truth Behind the Headlines about the Planned Parenthood Funding Battle with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Handel tells her side of the story.
