National Book Critics Circle Award Winners Revealed

Tonight the National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) unveiled the winners of their annual awards at a New York City ceremony. The complete list of winners follows below.

Half a Life by Darin Strauss (author of Chang and Eng and The Real McCoy) won the autobiography award. We interviewed Strauss about his work on Monday. Follow this link to listen.

Poetry: One with Others: [a little book of her days] by C.D. Wright
Criticism: Lyric Poetry and Modern Politics: Russia, Poland, and the West by Clare Cavanagh
Nonfiction: The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson
Fiction: A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan

In addition, Parul Sehgal received the Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing and Dalkey Archive Press received the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award.
