NY Times Folds Paper Cuts Blog into ArtsBeat Blog

Today The New York Times announced that they have folded the the Book Review’s Paper Cuts blog into the ArtsBeat blog–ending the newspaper’s standalone book blog coverage.

Here’s more about the change: “ArtsBeat is the leading edge of The Times’s culture report, full of news and commentary on television, music, movies, theater and more. But if you’d just like to see posts on books, visit (and bookmark) the ‘Books’ category. Paper Cuts’s archives have been copied to ArtsBeat too. You can find old postings using the search box near the top right of your screen. Or you can browse back in time by clicking the “Books” category link above.”

What do you think? Will this help or hurt book coverage at the NY Times? (Via Carolyn Kellogg)
