Less Than 32% of Kickstarter Publishing Projects Get Funded

Less than 32 percent of all publishing projects on Kickstarter actually get funded.

Kickstarter has started recording a useful set of statistics about projects attempted on the site (chart embedded above). According to these records, 6,445 publishing projects have been posted on Kickstarter and the successful projects have raised $10.37 million through the fundraising site.

Here’s more from Kickstarter: “How much has been pledged to Kickstarter projects? (More than $250 million) How much has been pledged to successfully funded projects? (More than $215 million) What percentage of Theatre projects have been successfully funded? (63%) How many projects have raised more than $1 million? (Seven) How many projects have never received a single pledge? (More than 7,000)”

On today’s Morning Media Menu, Social Times staff writer Devon Glenn shared her take on these statistics. If you want to explore more Kickstarter projects, check out our Kickstarter Project of the Week feature.
